Sun Lighting+ Concrete

Art Warehouse in Boeotia/ A31 Architecture

This simple form of High arc ceiling of this warehouse is very interesting, I like unusual of this simplicity in this building design. The concrete structure create the tough feeling of ware house, there are small linear windows to let the light from the side and rear façade. The front façade is the big glass wall on metal frame.

There are only ground floor and mezzanine in this building. I really like the staircase of this building it reminds me a nice modern house but in a tough version.  The function of this building is only use for an art studio and gallery. The high vault ceiling create impressive space (like in the church) when first entry, also the dramatic light passing through the linear windows on the wall reflect on the concrete surface.

Building Extension design with wheel chair access

Tree House /6A Architects

Another house design project that has been considered about the wheelchair accessibility, but this house has been designed to extend an existing building which is a typical London Edwardian architecture and two timber cottages in the backyard. To create an interesting extension, architect has designed the curve line connection between two cottages around the tree in the middle of the courtyard , make them to be one longer space with the same material.

Due to this extension part will be used for the client‘s mother, the wheelchair is needed to be access through this extension space. The architect designed the slope ramp on a different level area instead of stairs for the wheelchair access from outdoor to indoor part.

Winchester Information

Winchester

Since I have been assigned the project to design a house in Winchester, I was initially searching for information of Winchester from many websites and some books. I looked at information that may be used for my design project such as history, topography, weather, architectures, and etc.

Winchester lies in the valley of the Itchen and surrounded by chalk down-land. Once, Winchester was a capital of England in the Saxon period.  There are medieval and Georgian architectures laid out according to the original Saxon street plan where can be seen from the top of St. Giles hill.
